Meet a snake, salamander, and toad, to learn more about Minnesota’s wild animals and where they live in the summer. You can share your stories about real wild animal encounters, if you choose! Make a slithering craft, and have a hoppy good time! Free. Drop-in program - limited to first 40 people.

Tour the nature center butterfly and rain gardens to see the colorful flowers. Learn how to attract butterflies to your yard by planting native plants with nourishing leaves for caterpillars and flower nectar for adults. Learn which flowers
attract bees and hummingbirds to design for specific pollinators. Take home a seed packet of native flowers to sow.

Discover nature, seek new discoveries, and take some action! Make new friends and learn outdoor skills- cook with a solar oven, identify poisonous and edible plants, care for live animals and more! Assist the naturalist with on-going land management projects at the nature center and nearby city-owned nature preserves. Use hand tools to clear trails, plant and maintain wildflowers, and more!

For grades 4-8 (based on 2017/18 school year). This all day camp is designed for the serious basketball player who wants to make a school or travel team, move up a level on a travel team, or firm up their spot on an existing team. This camp is designed to prepare you for tryouts by giving you the skills and confidence to perform at your highest level. Each day a peak performance discussion topic will be covered to give campers the insights they need to stay healthy, focused, and confident. Topics will include nutrition, conditioning and stretching, as well as tips on how to deal with the mental side of competitive basketball. Scrimmages will be used daily so participants can utilize the skills they've learned. Player to trainer ratio will be 8:1 or less. These camps will be conducted by the professional training staff of the 43 Hoops Basketball Academy. Cost includes the price of 43 Hoops t-shirt.

Hit, run, and throw your way into fun with Lil' Sluggers! Lil' Sluggers is a nationwide company that teaches the fundamental skills of baseball and softball to the littlest athletes in a fun and positive environment. The program is designed to prepare the littlest athletes into their journey of organized team play by improving and developing their social and physical skills, both on and off the field. Sluggers will learn how to throw, field, catch, hit, and run the bases. Program will build upon the skills learned in previous sessions.

For ages 3-6. Wish Upon a Ballet is a dance program for children that incorporates popular children's stories, as well as ballet stories to create a dance class that is more than ballet steps. Using musical instruments, parachutes, and scarves, we will create a complete fairy tale experience while we skip, leap, jump, and spin. This way an intro to the movements and vocab of ballet are taught in a fun and creative manner. Children will learn an appreciation of dance and music while developing strength and flexibility. Girls and boys will need ballet shoes. Girls should wear a leotard and tights. Boys should wear comfortable clothes they can move around in. Shoes will be available to order on the first day of class for an extra fee. Students must be potty trained.

For ages 4-6 and a parent. This innovative program gets parents on the court working with their kids. The kids will have fun learning basic tennis skills and hand-eye coordination. Lightweight rackets and smaller nets are provided. Parents should bring their own racket.

For ages 5-9. Looking for a more in-depth ballet class without losing creativity and fun? This class is your answer! We will use the Wish Upon a Ballet curriculum, but go even further into specific ballet technique. Your children will not only think it is fun, but will improve posture, strength, and flexibility in a positive and self-esteem building atmosphere. Dance is proven to not only build strong bodies, but strong minds and self-esteem! This class is for beginners, as well as student with previous dance experience. Ballet shoes are required.

For ages 7-9. Participants will learn all of the basic tennis strokes: serve, volley, and groundstrokes. Lively drills will keep the class fast-moving and loads of fun! Lightweight rackets are provided.

For ages 12-14. This program is for kids who want to take their game to a higher level! They will improve their stroking technique, footwork, and serves. Students should be able to maintain a short rally and must bring their own rackets.

Families are invited to this FREE event to come and see "up close" some of the vehicles that come and go through your neighborhood. A wide variety of vehicles will be on display for you and your child to explore. Bring your camera! There will also be free food, a bounce castle, and more. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item that will be donated to a local food shelf.

For ages 4-12. This program is designed to provide youth of all skill levels with an opportunity to participate in organized recreational non-contact football. Participants will work to develop football skills, teamwork, and most importantly, have fun in this exciting new program. All participants will receive a clinic shirt. The sessions will be a combination of skill development/instruction and scrimmaging.
